The Ming and the Qing were the last dynasties
They were thriving off trade in the Yangtze
China just wanted to be left alone
They were prospering on their own
Britain just wanted their silk and tea
But they had nothing in return to give the Chinese
So they gave them opium got them hooked on drugs
The thugs gave them the addictive bud
Drugged out masses overtaken
Britain's Royal Navy would not be shaken
They conquered for commerce
Forced China to open their ports
Signed an unequal treaty
When they lost the war

Imperialists always get their way
Mother countries they're all the same

It's all about money control trade and power
When they're hungry they devour
So they can sit back and drink their tea
Without a thought to the great humanity

Mathew Perry arrived on their shores
